June Aita, program assistant for Kimochi’s Nutrition Program, gained experience in marketing Kimochi outreach programs under guidance of Woman Warrior, Sandy Mori. June was exposed to issues and leadership in the field of aging.
SELF-HELP FOR THE ELDERLY
Woman Warrior, Anni Chung mentored three managers: Queenie Lui (returning mentee), Josephine Ma, and Caroline Ng -- all immigrant women from Hong Kong and China. Under Anni’s direction, these three managers gained deeper experience in management, fundraising and advocacy work.
CALIFORNIA HEALTH INITIATIVES, INC.
Woman Warrior, Alice Bulos’ mentorship program is woven into CHI’s mission to serve uninsured and underserved ethnic immigarnts, high-risk youth and adults. Alice’s tender touch guides young immigrant women as they adjust to life in the U.S. and gain self-awareness and self-worth.
NIKKEI COMMUNITY INTERN PROGRAM (NCI)/ JAPANESE AMERICAN SERVICES EAST BAY (JASEB)
In partnership with JASEB and NCI’s internship program, Laura Takeuchi mentored the next generation of Japanese American’s in community service.

ASIAN AMERICAN RECOVERY SERVICES, INC. for the Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara
Their mission is to decrease incidence and impact of substance abuse in the API Bay Area community, annually helping sponsor 250 girls ages 13-18 to attend the annual Sister-to-Sister Conference for female youth celebrating API women of tomorrow.
