Mentor: Brenda Wong Aoki  (WW 1996), First Voice

As aspiring writer built experience in theatrical production with Brenda’s Mermaid Meats production – managing publicity, events and ticket sales.

Mentor: Sandy Ouye Mori (WW 1983), Kimochi Inc.

A woman in transition gained deeper understanding of the special philosophy of elder care at Kimochi Inc. and developed a Japanese language brochure for Kimochi Home.

Mentor: Adrienne Pon (WW 1996), Zeum

Two young women took on leadership roles in continuing to develop Zeum’s teen outreach program

Mentor: Alice Bulos (WW 1987), California Health Initiative

Mentee gained leadership experience under CHI’s community service, education and outreach programs.

NCI intern placed at Japanese American Services of the East Bay (JASEB) and came to better understand issues affecting the Japanese American elder population.

Mayor’s Office, San Francisco

Intern placed in the Mayor’s press office and learned the inner workings of the press team and city government.
